Alexandra St Set

Directions: go up alexandra street, and there is a set of apartments right past membertou.
Description: there is a 7 stair, a grass gap, and also some smaller four stairs. (NOTES: )
Warnings: if you're quiet and don't cause trouble you probably won't get kicked out.

Ashby School

Directions: go up terrace street as if you're headed towards spec. the school is on your left, about a block or two past sydney academy.
Description: two nine stair sets with wooden rails on both sides. (NOTES: )
Warnings: shitty landing. rail is made of wood.

Bank Bank

Directions: go to the td bank on charlotte street. it's tucked up in the back parking lot (esplanade end)
Description: nice bank for doing fakie tricks. you can also roll from the top of the bank, ollie the bank, and end up in the runway. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings:

Boardwalk

Directions: find the boardwalk in sydney. right there.
Description: nice little three stair with wooden ledges and a stage. also plenty of garbage cans and picnic tables handy. keep going down the bordwalk (wood blocks go sideways and make it annoying to push) there is a little place by where boats dock where you can ollie up and down some ledges, as well as a little lip. go up to the civic centre and there's lots of stuff (including a nice drop from civic centre terrace to road), however the terrace is made of cobblestone so you can't skate it very well. Warnings: close to an old people's home.. sometimes you'll get kicked out of here. it's hit and miss.

Brodway Drop

Directions: go up victoria road in the pier until u get to East Brodway St. and then it is in between Gj's convience and gregs feuls
Description: about a 8 or 8.5 foot drop you need wood but we stole sum so there should be wood behind it or in the grass there is a high and low part and a gap for all u crazy ppl (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: short run for low part long run for high part

Brokers

Directions: Go down George St. and its passed Wentworth Park and Just before Cracker Barrel There is a sign that says Bluenose Insurence Brokers
Description: There is a good five set with a short run and lots of landing if u want u can clear the five set + the white pavement thing and there is lots of landing (NOTES: )
Warnings: They let u skate there as long as there not open during the week they close at 5 but thursday 7 and when theyr closed they dont care

brookland elementary

Directions: Where the old colby school is at the beginning of cottage road by jimmy dans.
Description: theres a 9 stair with a ledge and a 5 stair and a 6 stair and they all have perfect run and landing and thers a gap with a ton of run and landing (NOTES: )
Warnings: security guards are sometimes there

Burger King (Sydney River)

Directions: In Sydney River saty on Kings Rd. Turn right after McDonalds and you will see B.K.
Description: Grass / rock gap small manual pad (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: When you do the gap you land in the drive-thru so you have to watch out for cars. They did'nt kick us out when we were there, but they probably will if they see you.

Cambridge Gap

Directions: cambridge suites on the esplanade.
Description: a big 10-11 stair grass gap. there's also a really narrow stair set (big 9) by it that's never been done. (NOTES: )
Warnings: security guards kick you out after about 4 runs at it.

Centre 200 10 Stair

Directions: go to centre 200, it's on the left.
Description: small 10 stair with a really really small runway and landing. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Chicken Coups

Directions: go up terrace street and you'll see an apartment complex on the right before you get there (on the left is a big field).
Description: 4 stair, then a 5 stair for doing lines. there's also a HUGE long grass gap closeby. (NOTES: )
Warnings: don't make a lot of noise and you probably won't get kicked out

CIBC

Directions: big cibc building at the top of the esplanade (near the other tall office buildings). back parking lot.
Description: little 8 stair and drop. there's also a gap over a planter to drop and you land in this underground walkway. pretty fun set of gaps. (NOTES: )
Warnings: watch out for the glass windows.

CO OP Ashby

Directions: close to the needs store
Description: there is a little ledge you can drop off. nothing special. (NOTES: )
Warnings: tend to get kicked out in the day.

Consumers

Directions: the old K-mart Plaza and movie theatres in ashby now know as EDS.
Description: This spot is still skatable, but only for lines and stuff. This place if still around today would be one of the best skate spots in the Cape. It was covered from the rain and snow hence the only year round spot. As far as obsticales went it had a sick concrete ledge that ran about 100 feet to go along with a one stair drop and a couple of lips and some ollie challenges not to mention smooth concrete like a hockey rink. R.I.P. Consumers, you are in our thoughts and prayers and will be grately missed. (NOTES: Rain Skatable Night Skatable)

Directions: right behind the county hockey rink

Coxheath school

Directions: go down coxheath road and look left right before the tracks and its right their
Description: a 4 stair with a small runway and skechy landing and some benches u can move around and grind (NOTES: )
Warnings: gotheir afyer 4 pm or on weekends or you will get kicked out

cusak school

Directions: go up birch hill road and u cant miss it (by the horse tracks)
Description: 2 sweet 5 stairs in the back and a coupls sketchey sets in the front.its pritty fun tho (NOTES: )

Dairy Queen

Directions: dairy queen on king's road, close to sydney river.
Description: little drop with a curb in front. there is a vet's office next door with a small gap in front of it. (NOTES: )
Warnings: you'll get kicked out if it isn't late at nite.

DMV

Directions: right on king's road by a set of lights about half way between sydney and sydney river. the dmv plaza is on the right.
Description: there is a fat manual pad in the front.. and some other stuff to manual all the way around the building. in the back there is a little 3 stair you can ollie up, a small 2 stair, lots of flatground, and a litte gap (about 3 stairs) with a curb in front. there is also a little drop you can ollie to go from the dmv lot into the cape bretoner motel parking lot. Warnings:

Empire Theatres

Directions: oh come on.
Description: there is a nice huge manual pad off to the side of the theatres, as well as a nice gap which varies in size (biggest part around 7 stairs). the gap is hard to do because you need to ollie sideways - if you ollie the gap straight on you will ram into the side of the building. there is a big hill across from the manual pad. go up the hill and there are some drops as well as a steel train rail. (NOTES: )
Warnings: sometimes the empire workers kick you out.

Esplanade Gap

Directions: go to the esplanade on sydney. find the civic centre and look right across the street. it goes from a parking lot down into the sidewalk.
Description: a big ol' virgin gap, about 12-14 stairs worth. tried many times but never landed. dave priest (now pro) battled this gap and lost in '97 or '98. (NOTES: )
Warnings: runway is great, but the landing is made of this cobblestone crap. telephone polls and parking meters riddle the landing so watch out.

Foundation Gap

Directions: go up or down kings road until you see the cape bretoner motel (kind of close to cabot house, that big tall building, and on the same side of the road). the gap is right between the cape bretoner and the old keddy's motel, on the foundation of an old building.
Description: really nice runway and landing made of smooth concrete. the landing on part of the gap is made of this brick material. the gap is just a drop on one side, and a grass gap in the middle. (NOTES: )
Warnings: there is a little clicker that can really fuck you up if you're trying nollie/fakie tricks. also stays wet a bit longer than the rest of the streets, but if it's a warm day you can easily dry it up using bits of grass/shrub.

French School (acadie)

Directions: it's on prince street in sydney. it's the building before steelworker's hall. for those of you who don't know where steelworker's hall is.. it's on the next block after the movie theatres.
Description: a 30 foot long ledge with a ramp on one side and a 5 stair on the other. the ledge is new concrete and will slide and grind if waxed enough. runway and landing are plentiful. the five stair is doable, but narrow. there are plastic rubber benches everywhere that don't grind but they slide ok. i believe there is a few shitty drops in the back of the school. (NOTES: )
Warnings: might not want to skate here during school hours.

George St Mini Mall

Directions: the mini mall that the liquor store is located in on george street (across from the casino).
Description: 20 stair set and rail with perfect runway and landing. pro doable but not by us mortals. in the back there is a little planter gap and some benches. (NOTES: )
Warnings: security guards will kick you out of here on weekdays and saturdays.

Government Wharf

Directions: go up the esplanade, it's right past the boardwalk.
Description: some barricades to ollie over are set up sometimes. there is also a two way gap to the right when you are first rolling down into the parking lot. it's hard to do because the runway is sketch. there is also a set of railroad tracks and a big ledge loading dock you can skate on, which isn't that fun. there used to be a manual pad, but it is blocked off now. you can also kickflip a set of railroad tracks in the middle of the lot. Warnings: it gets pretty windy down there.

Harbourside Elementary

Directions: Go to holy redeemer church in the pier on victoria road you will see c and m's viariety and go left the take the first left on the street on you are in the parking lot.
Description: couple benches, flat rails, big ass manual pads, gaps and close to alot of stores and theings to get food at. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: the cops let you skate here so no warnings

Hardwood Hill Old Age Home

Directions: Right across from Hardwood Hill Cementary on George Street.
Description: multiple 4 and 3 stairs, kinda tight, and a long 8 stair that as of now hasn't been hit do to the no run, run. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Seniors don't like the noise of skateboards respect your elders and leave when they ask.

Holy Angels 8 stair

Directions: go way up charlotte street. you should eventually see the back of the school on your right.
Description: nice 8 stair, but the stairs are a little wide. (NOTES: )
Warnings: there is a crack before the set starts.

Honda Gap

Directions: go to kings road and look for the ramsey's honda dealer.
Description: a big gap on the side of the building about 12 stairs big. there is also a little drop closeby. (NOTES: )
Warnings: the guy gets bummed if he catches you skating. also, the landing is right by a huge display window.

JR Rahhey's

Directions: jr rahey's on kings road
Description: a little lip you can float, as well as a guardrail to ollie. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

kings convenience gap

Directions: it's on the side of kings convenience store on kings road (on the way out to sydney river).
Description: a little grass gap from driveway to driveway. this is one of those gaps that gets bigger to smaller depending on where you go off. (NOTES: )
Warnings: really shitty runway with rocks everywhere.

Louisbourg

Directions: louisbourg ain't to big drive through u'll find everything
Description: 4 Stair with a legde drop and 2 concrete ledges good for sliding and stuff. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

louisbourg 7 stair

Directions: Turn first left at the firehall
Description: a 7 stair not a very good runway cross treads plywood makes it way easier (NOTES: )

Louisbourg A&L drop

Directions: Turn left beside the Louisbourg general store
Description: Drops range in size from 2 feet to about 7 feet pretty good runway with a good landing (NOTES: )

Louisbourg boat gap

Description: A pretty good drop with a long runway but its narrow (NOTES: )

Louisbourg Wharf Drop

Directions: Take a left, right before the grubstake and at the end of that street there's a boardwalk, just go on the boardwalk and u cant miss it
Description: a 5 - 8 foot drop (depending on the tides), from the main pier onto a floating dock right beside it (NOTES: )
Warnings: If u come up too short, you could lose your sk8 in the water, if you slip out, you could lose your sk8 in the water, theres a metal thing you have to get over, about a deck high

MacLennan Gap

Directions: Go up Westmount Road until you get to Murphy Road go up Murphy Road Until you get to Fulton Av. Go up Fulton Av. until you come to sunnydale dr. on the right turn in and as soon as you come in you'll see a big school go on the right hand side of the building and you'll see a power box with a fence around it thats it.
Description: A 2 foot gap over a fence and a drop about as high as Govenrment warf drop. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: The Fence is pretty sharp so don't cut yourself climbing up

McDonalds

Directions: Go In Sydney River, its in between the police station and super valu.
Description: Fun little gap about the size of a 3 stair with a curb in front of it. Bigger gap on far end, its like a curb, a deck and a half of a gap (length wise) then big bolders. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: McDonalds people sometimes kick you out, but you gotta be there for like 2 hours before they do. Its right next to a police station so that doesn't help.

memorial jr high

Directions: go to the pier. pass the gas station, pass the needs, eventually you will see the polish village hall on the right and a ball field and walking track. there is a long road right before the track, take the right. the jr high is just ahead. you can see the school from the main road (victoria road) just past the walking track.
Description: a rickety double set. 8 stairs then a little flat, then a 7. runway and landing both have cracks. it is too big to ollie at once, so you have to ollie the first one, set up quickly, and do the second. (NOTES: )
Warnings: dont' skate it during school hours or you'll get kicked.

Nissan Gap

Directions: go up kings road and it's right behind the nissan dealership.
Description: 12-13 stair grass gap. really big. assloads of runway and landing. (NOTES: )
Warnings: i mean REALLY big!

North End rail

Directions: when you come up the hill from government warf, its pretty much right infront of you.
Description: Yellow low kind of bendy 5 stair rail, but still doable. George does it in scenery 1. (NOTES: )
Warnings: None from what i know. Its just an old abandoned house.

Oil Drop Gap

Directions: go up george street. pass centre 200, keep an eye out on your left it's right in the rear parking lot of the elks club and the little business college.
Description: 8 foot drop with a really sketchy runway. no it's not 15 or 12 feet, it's 8 :) (NOTES: )
Warnings: the people don't usually kick you out.

Old Bank

Directions: go to the yellow curbs, and it's right in back. or go up george street, pass the corner where jaspers is, and keep an eye out for a driveway on the left that goes to it.
Description: bank for doing tricks on. pretty crappy quality concrete. really old spot. (NOTES: )

Directions: just go down townsend st. past pratt and its kinda by stephens but across frum the lil power place thing

Directions: go down townsend street. find the irving on the corner of george and townsend. go about a block or two down townsend towards the tracks. it's on the left.
Description: little drop, little runway thing, nice smooth concrete. this spot is skatable in the rain if you're desperate, there's a canopy covering it. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: the police will occasionally kick you out of here.

prince street gap

Directions: find the needs convenience store on prince street. the gap is right across the street.
Description: a gap from the front/side of a building onto the road. you land in a sidestreet coming off of prince street. (NOTES: )
Warnings: not usually a ton of traffic, but keep an eye out for cars coming on/off prince. also, the runway is a place of business so make sure they're closed!

Riverview High School

Directions: Go past the green bridge, go up to coxheath road, its the big white building.
Description: 5 Stair, 4 Stairs, 9 Stair with no run, but handrail mite be doable if you rolled from the side, still sketchy tho. Theres some minigaps and manual pads and things to grind if you have wax. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: They'll kick you out during school hours, and theres lips in front of both the sets, but they like add to the fun of the stairs. Make em a bit harder :)

SAD skatepark

Directions: Go up alexzander st, go up toward shipyear and its not hard to miss

Directions: go up welton street by mcdonalds, it's right behind there wher ict is.
Description: 9 stair and a 5 stair right next to eachother. the 9 has super doable handrails. rails on the 5 are doable as well but landing isn't as great. there is a little bank and another crazy rail down the parking lot a bit. (NOTES: )
Warnings: schwartz will kick you out if they're open.

Scotsburn Place

Directions: The Scotsburn Milk factory up the roadfrom the old Canadian Tire in Sydney

Directions: go to ashby and find terrace street. go to the very very end of terrace and you'll see spec.
Description: a 4 small four stair with a small kinked rail. also has a little manual pad type thing that isn't that great. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Silicon Island

Directions: go to wentworth park in sydney. it's the big white building across from the gazebo.

St Joseph's Church

Directions: go up cottage road, find colby/st joes/woodil schools. there's a big white church there by the ball fields.
Description: nice five stair with a sidewalk block on the landing that you can clear. plenty of run. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Super Valu Gap (small)

Directions: super valu in sydney river by the lights.
Description: little gap of varying size from the super valu parking lot into the road entrance. about 4 stairs with a curb in front. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: watch out for oncoming traffic

Sydney River Shopping Plaza

Directions: go to sydney river. it's a shopping plaza with a walmart.
Description: the indoor canopy is great for lines, and the marble runway and nice lighting make it a lot of fun. really narrow, and the marble runway can be a bit slipper. in the back there is a nice bank thing that gives some pop. (NOTES: Rain Skatable Night Skatable)
Warnings: be careful of the windows in the canopy... also, the bank in back is right by the doors at the back of the walmart. if you hit the doors, you'll set off the alarms and really nice guys will come out and ask if you can try not to hit the doors. really spooky skating in back if it's late at night.

Sydney Shopping Centre

Directions: sydney shopping centre on prince street.
Description: there is a nice gap in the back, and some manual pads in front. also in the back is two little grass gaps you can do in a row. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Terry's/Ambulance drop

Directions: Its At terry's used clothing on prince street.Or by the ambulance place.
Description: On monday to saturday u cant sk8 there till 3:30 or u will get kicked. Its a wooden drop with clean run kinda and wiket good landing(newly paved cement) (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Tim Horton's Ledge/Drop

Directions: in the parking lot of the tim horton's on the corner of charlotte and townsend street.
Description: a drop of varying heights with a crummy runway (fixable by a piece of plywood) and nice landing. good for backside stuff if you're goofy. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

UCCB

Directions: take the highway to glace bay. stop when you are EXACTLY half way between glace bay and sydney.
Description: there is a nice long ledge and gap in the front at an entrance that isn't used often (right by the old cashier's office). there is a 6 set there to ollie. and you can also ollie off the ledge, over the sidewalk, and into the parking lot. in the back of the school by the courtyard there are a few ledge type things you can ollie up and off. (NOTES: )
Warnings: don't bother trying to skate indoors because a comissionaire will probably tear your head off. lots of nice sets and things in there though.

wendy's bank

Directions: find the wendy's restaurant on welton street in sydney. it's right in back.
Description: a little bank/lip thing with a curb at the end. there is a cart corrall nearby and you can put shopping carts on it to ollie over. consumers is right up the parking lot a bit. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: you have to skate through part of the wendy's drive through, but you usually don't get kicked out.

Wentworth Park

Directions: wentworth park in sydney
Description: there's a little gazebo with a one stair you can go off.. plus a big rock fountain thing that's covered up with wood in the fall/spring that you can do tricks off. also some ledges surrouding the rock you can ollie off. if you go down the park for a bit, there is a 5 stair at the bandshell. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

White Church (sydney river)

Directions: on the one-way strip at the very start of route 4. take the exit to east bay, but turn back towards sydney and it's right there on the left.
Description: little manual pad thing. there's also an 8 stair you can do from the walkway into the parking lot. there's also a huge 13 stair rail in the back, and a big roof gap on the side. there is also some small stuff to grind. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Y's Mens Club (Westmount)

Directions: this is in westmount. go towards the sydney river shopping plaza and go over the green bridge. then take a right at the lights to get onto the long westmount road. drive for 10 or 15 seconds and you'll see a building on the right (possibly church hall or KOC). spot is in back.
Description: old tennis courts which sometimes has some manual pads and flatrails. there is also a bomber gap that goes from the back of the building, over a chain link fence, and landing in the tennis courts.

Yellow Curbs

Directions: go way up george street and it's right across the street from sacred heart church.
Description: one of the first known spots in sydney, it's not very good anymore. used to have some yellow concrete curbs to slide on (but they put handrails up so you can't skate them anymore). also used to be a BIG gap up in the upper level to the lower parking lot, which is railes/chained up. there are some flat planters to ollie, and some curbs, but not much fun. if you look up to the upper parking lot, you'll notice a big drop from the top of a power housing unit. (NOTES: )

Northside

Barracks

Directions: go down shore road in sydney mines all the way. don't turn left to go to sm town. instead continue until you can't go any farther. you should be able to see the ruins.
Description: old barracks from ww2, including some natural skatable gaps, drops, and stairs. nice scenery surrounds fun place to skate (though would only be fun once or twice a year). (NOTES: )
Warnings: There's a lot of pipes hidden in the grass (ventilation shafts for lower levels I think). you could easy lose a board or get your legs stuck in them. And there is a LOT of broken glass around

Blue And White Taxis

Directions: Keep going downtown untill you get to blue and white, its on the left side: the indoor park is right in back of this place.
Description: Its a drop around probly 4-5 feet high, but it goes from not even 1 foot up to 4-5 so you dont just have to do the big drop, there is also a little curb infront of the drop. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Bottom's Up

Directions: on commercial street on the sidewalk, across from nicekrsons.
Description: little concrete ledge you can wax up. (NOTES: )
Warnings: cops kick you out quick.

bras d'or church sets

Directions: drive towards milleville. pass the first set of lights with the tim hortons. when you get to the second set of lights by the school, turn left. go down the road for about half a kilometer and there's a huge church on the left.
Description: two sets, a 9 and an 11. the runway is a little crummy, and if you ollie the 9 you have to set up right away to do the 11. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: don't skate it during church hours or there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

brasdor driveway to driveway

Directions: go to brasdor elementary and go to the back road where the buses come in right at first.
Description: nice big grass gap not alot of run so you have to run at your board and ollie. (NOTES: )
Warnings: the people dont really want you skating there but do it anyways.there not that bad.

brasdor elementary

Directions: at brasdor intersection
Description: lots of ollie 2 manual curbs and 2 grindable curbs.2 new homemade rails.the curbs are new .there is a green generator box to drop off. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

Credit Union

Directions: Next to Micky D's on King St. in North Sydney
Description: newer building with nice looking parking lot. lots of curbs, a sidewalk part near the building to ollie over or use as a manual pad. (NOTES: )
Warnings: There is a drive trough ATM on the side of the building that is watched by a security camera so their might be other security devices around (cops, bank guards, cameras)

Exhibition Grounds

Directions: From downtown, keep going untill you get to Regent St. Turn up, Keep going untill you get to a the exhibition.
Description: Nice place to skate if your starting skating, theres lots of wood to use, manual pad, lanuch ramp, lil drops, ledge. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Well make shure that the exhibition isn't running and make shure your not in a huge group of you will end up getting kicked out of there real quick.

Directions: go up beech street in sm and turn and go down richerd street and go down till u see a drive way wit a drop to a driveway and yer there

KOC Roof Gap (SM)

Directions: To Get To The KOC Roof Drop Coming From North Sydney To Sydney Mines, Come Down Memorial Drive To The Bottom. Take A Left. And Almost Right Away Take A Right Again To Head Up A Road Which Is A Step Hill (View Street). Go To The Top Of This Street And Take A Left. The Drop Is Up On The Back Of The KOC.. Directions: commercial street in north sydney with a stair going right into the sidewalk.

Northside Boardwalk

Directions: boardwalk in north sydney
Description: nice smooth wood runways for doing lines, along with a couple of picnic tables. there is a spot where two parts of the boardwalk meet at 90 degree angles, and you can ollie a rock in the corner that these two walkways form. you can also manual the rock. (NOTES: )
Warnings: city workers will kick you out of here in the summer.

Northside Park (Carmen Young Memorial)

Directions: drive towards north sydney. take the 'johnston road' exit and turn right. there will be a big gravel lot on your left. the park is up there. the super store and north sydney shopping centre are close by.
Description: a big asphalt patch close to a walking track. there's a little pyramid you can hit, as well as a long curb which would have been fun in '89. really fun park to skate when there are obtacles set up. as of 2003 there was a nice quarter and bank. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

old police station drop

Directions: find the old police station, which i think is on memorial drive.. up by memorial high school kind of. go in back and you will see some loading bays and a drop.
Description: nice drop with a little curb in front. the drop has variable heights from 2 feet to around 5 feet. (NOTES: )

Post Office Marble Ledge

Directions: When you come into Sydney Mines you keep on the main street. You end up comming to an intersection, right next to robins (robins gap) keep driving right threw and you will go past 2 banks, then you will come to a school. When you pass the school its right there, ya cant miss it, its right infront of the Post office. Drug Store is right accross the street.
Description: This is a deadly marble ledge about 2 feet high, its all waxed and ready for some sick tricks to be put down on it, its fairly long to with only one crack. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Directions: directly across the street from the robins gap on main street in sydney mines.

Directions: very close to the ferry terminal in north sydney, under an overpass.

Robin's Gap

Directions: go to the set of lights in sydney mines town.

Scotia Bank (NS)

Directions: down town area in North Sydney, its right across from the Ryoal Bank, Board walk, Ect.

Directions: Go up by the fourm and turn up onto Stanly Street, a few seconds up the street there will be a paved drive way with a chain so no cars can get in, You have arived.

Sydney Mines Skatepark

Directions: pitt street sydney mines. when coming from sydyney into sydney mines keep going straight until you get to the lights (there is only one set in town). go to the left, between the cement planter and the hardware store. on that road you will see a large open area on the right with ball fields and tennis courts. the park is next to the tennis court.
Description: theres a HUGE 2 way a HUGE bank ramp a smaller bank ramp a 1/4 pipe with a 4 foot and a 5 foot extention. 2 rails (manual pad next few days, along with 2 more rails) (NOTES: )

The Pit

Directions: drive towards rollies wharf. it's on the harbour very close to the ferry terminal.
Description: big loading building parking lot. 1) nice banks in this valley in the middle of the lot for doing bank-fakie tricks 2) big concrete barricades which you can ollie over (by launching off the bank). 3) some flatbed trucks on one side of the parking lot that you can do tricks off 4) pit drop, which is a 5 foot drop with a curb in front. this place could be good for doing lines as well. Warnings: sometimes there are trucks in the way.. and sometimes there is debris which makes it impossible to ollie the barricades.

Thompson Jr High

Directions: thompson jr high in north sydney on regent st i think
Description: 5 stair and a 7 stair. the 7 stair has a crummy landing, and if you can ollie far, the 5 stair has a sidewalk block you can clear. (NOTES: )

Directions: Its located on an apartment complex on marion street in glace bay which is right off of highland street.

Barn Gap

Directions: On highland street about a three minute skate up from the traintracks on union street. Its a big Barn shaped house with a cement pad in the front.
Description: Its a big barn shaped house with a large cement pad in the front of it that leads over about a four and a half foot flat grass gap leading into a houses smooth driveway. Its the same type of gap as the foundation gap only smaller and smoother. (NOTES: )
Warnings: Keep the noise down so the neighbors dont get upset and kick you out.

BayPlex

Directions: Take the loop of town and instead of taking a left turn t\when you come to the intersection in the back of town, go straight. There is a paves driveway not too far up the road. When you go strait you are going from Browdie Ave. to Minto St.
Description: There is a four stair there and three handrails (I'm not sure if they have been done before) and on the walkway, just out of the picture, there is a nice little lip. (NOTES: )
Warnings: During the day or when there is an event taking place, you are usually kicked out within the first 15-20 min. you're there ( so get what you want landed and get it fast!)

Cape Breton Post 5 set

Directions: its the parking lot that stream doesnt use. its on union street rite across fromstream and a little convenience store called jacks
Description: the park has 3 rails, about 8 manual pads some with angle iron, 3 really good fun boxs, a few kickers, a huge bank ramp, there is some gaps there but we usually make our own out of the fun boxs and manual pads. I am still bringing more stuff down like boxs and kickers and hings are still being made like the qaurter pipe and some rails. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: there is nothin bad about this park it has good pavement and u can skate there 24/7 because we are allowed to use the lot

Glace Bay Elementary

Directions: If you go strait in town to cross the bridge... take a right, on to Brookside St., immediatly after crossing. Go half-way down the street (its a 10 min. skate) until you hit it. Its the biggest thing on the street.
Description: There are a couple of manual pads. A lot of lips and two round, metal tube, bike racks on opposite sides of the school. Theres a manhole gap midway through the parkinglot hugging the walkway and the pavement. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: There are rocks everywhere from those stupid kids and their playground and one bike rack is a little loose.

Glace Bay High

Directions: When coming in from sydney just keep coming strait and you will see a Glace Bay High sign on the side of the road. The sign is right at the top of the driveway going into the school.
Description: A nice clean 9 set but as soon as you land you have about 5 feet and theres another set.the set after the 9 is huge with a big rail on it. It would be good for snowboarding. On the other side of the school theres is a double set with rails. A rollerblades could probally do the whole thing but you would have to ollie one then ollie the next. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Goverment curb

Directions: When your coming down union st. towards town it's across from the royal bank on your left. It's a big brick building, ya cant miss it.

Salvation Army four stair

Directions: starting at the Savoy, proceed up Union St. to the Royal Bank. It is directly across the strees from thereand it has a big sign atop of the hill infront of it.
Description: There used to be a huge clicker there so those of you who still think there is... they fixed it. overall it is a pretty good set except for the run. It is a little short depending on the angle you start at. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Once you land , be prepaired to go from sidewalk to driveway.

Savoy Theatre

Directions: savoy theatre in glace bay.
Description: 7 stair in the front with an awkward runway and small landing. also a really nice grass gap (about 6 stairs, commonly referred to as the savoy gap) in the back of the building which is perfect for tricks. on the side of the savoy there is a small curb you can grind. (NOTES: )

Stream (Devco)

Directions: it's at the parking lot where stream is (formerly devco).
Description: In the first parking lot there is a nice clean 5 stair and a really smooth manual pad that goes into the street. the manual pad goes up into a bank.the devco gap is in this lot.there are numerous grass gaos in this lot with big curbs in the front of them. there is also a little "sex" gap over a bit. in the far parrking lot there is a small grass gap like the zellers mall gap, there is also a nice super clean 7 stair. that goes into the road. Warnings: in the first parking lot you should watch out for security guards. they have cameras scopin this biatch out.

Tennis Courts

Directions: Go to the very end of yorke street and you will see a big mud parking lot, its right there in the tennis courts. Its just up the hill from the cameron bowl.
Description: Tennis courts with a few nice sized wedge ramps leading on to a 3' funbox. theres some rails and stuff down there sometimes as well. (NOTES: )
Warnings: Watch out for dickheads that will come and try to ruin the ramps at night, its happened before;

The Bricks (Back of town)

Directions: Drive the loop around gb its behind Tobys and Eins. Youll see a roof.
Description: Its a big flat with a drop all along the back (you must do a frontside or backside trick off it.) there are also some ledges that are nice for manuels and tricksoff of.in the parking lot there is a big brick manuel pad and at the begining of it there is a little bank which is nice to skate.Its definately one of G.B.`s best spots byfar. The Wharf Gap

Directions: go behind by pittmans lobster ya can't miss it (by the gb wharf lolol

The Wharf Rail

Directions: Dive down water st. until you come to Gallant st. go to the very end of gallant, its on the right.

Directions: right in the back of the peoples mall in the back of town

69 Gap

Directions: look for needs in scotchtown go down mahan street and it will be on the left halfway down
Description: big parking lot with a bowl like hill on one side. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: there can sometimes be alot of broken glass so beware of that. the hill is real steep so beginners beware.

69er grass gap

Directions: its right across the street from the 69er gap.
Description: its a long grass gap that runs out onto the road and its right across the street from the 69er.There is a curb at the bottom of it so you gotta be careful not to get your trucks hooked on it or your goin to be setting yourself up for a bad slam. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: there are usually cars going up the street so you'll need a look out.There are usually rocks at the end of it so before you skate it you should clear em all out.

BEC (Breton Education Centre)

Directions: high school in new waterford. i don't remember the exact directions. it's close to town though.
Description: five stair with a rickety runway and landing made of tiled concrete. there is a little ledge going down the middle of the stairs which is grindable. there is also two big ledges on the sides of the stairs which have a 7 foot drop or so. (NOTES: )
Warnings:

boudraus ledge

Directions: go to lower king street and look for boudraus hardware store you should see the ledge from there.
Description: a 4 set wit a ledge next to it. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: the only time you can skate there is when it is closed otherwise you'll get kicked out. after closing you have all the time you need.

car wash (parking lot)

Directions: go to the bottom end of king street right across the road from the gas station. its a big car wash with a nice big lot.
Description: its only a flatland area. nothing special there except theres a slight hill to ride up and do a trick into the car wash. in the summer me or other skaters may be there and might have a rail or something to sk8. (NOTES: )
Warnings: cars uauslly park there but they leave if you are there. also cops sometimes head over and may kick you out, if you show them that your not doing anything wrong they should leave yuh alone. there are no skateboarding signs there but its alright.

Davis Square

Directions: Look for marys gifts on plummer ave, its across the road from there.
Description: A 3 set good for beginners, has a good run up. (NOTES: )
Warnings: there is a crack at the bottom of the stairs. You have to clear the crack or yer rollin it.

Doctor's Office Extended Six Set

Directions: Its directly across the stree from the enterance to the Tim Hortons drive thru in the parking lot of a big white building.
Description: It's nice six set with an extended bottom stair whic is about twice the length of a regular stair. It has a decent run up with crack that doesn't bother you too much. Its extremely doable and doesn't get skated much because a lot of people don't even know it's there. (NOTES: )
Warnings: Some time after you've been there for a bit someone might come out of either the doctor's office or an attached aprtment and kick you out but a lot of the time they'll just stand there and watch you.

Directions: (not 100% on these directions)... take the louisbourg highway out of sydney. a few minutes before you hit albert bridge, you will see a semi-main road on the left called hornes road. go down that road a few feet and turn left up the first street. at the top of the street is a school.
Description: long manual pads and some wooden benches. fun for manual tricks -- would be perfect if you added some angle iron and a few flatrails. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Portage Park

Directions: drive towards east bay. right past the second long stretch of highway (the really long stretch), turn left into a set of tennis courts which is right past a convience store / gas station.
Description: abandoned tennis court with various obstacles set up. may 2003: 2 flatrails manual pad resurfaced quarter pipe grind box miniature picnic table there is usually some extra wood and stuff lying around for making homemade obstacles (NOTES: )
Warnings: the bugs out here get crazy, but there's a store nearby that sells repellent.

Poseur Park (PRIVATE)

Directions: this is a private park, and you can't skate it unless you know the guy that owns it, or ask one of the guys who built it. these are just really nice guys who don't want to lose something they worked hard to have.
Description: probably one of the nicest spots on the island, the poseur park is small but solid. really nice funbox with a little rail going down it, as well as a sturdy ledge. various manual pads and rails litter the place, making it a heaven for whipping up your own homemade obstacles. also called poser park by people who can't spell :) (NOTES: )
Warnings: don't show up and skate this place. it's in kyle's backyard and he'll get in shit if you try and skate it without permission. flies out here are a bastard.

St Peter's Rail

Directions: drive to st peter's. pass town a little ways and you'll see a church on your right.
Description: nice 7 stair rail that isn't quite as low as it looks. the 7 stair is also doable but the stairs are wide. (NOTES: )
Warnings: you land in route 4. don't get run over by a truck.

Baddeck

B&M Gap

Directions: On the main stree of Baddeck. You Can see the gap from the Postal Office. Towards Needs
Description: Nice Gap Good for in a line or just to hit while skatin down the stree. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: People dont mind if u skate there just dont hit and flowers and clean up your mess.

club drop

Directions: go all the way down town. To the water front. To the goverment wharf. Its where they load the boats .

Glass Company

Directions: main drag in chet .. big church cant miss it. right next to nda school.
Description: a gorgeous low rail with perfect run and perfect landing. there is a 10 set on each side of the church entrance, and a 12 in front with a rail as well. the rails on all sets are really low and round. (NOTES: )

cheticamp: CBHEC/CBHA the school

Directions: On the Cobot Trail, by Cheticamp big school in the woods. In the Belle Cote/Terre Noir area.
Description: Tons of benches, a moveable picnic table, unlimited sidewalk and a tiny manual pad. There are rocks in some places but it works. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Can't skate there until about after 5:00/6:00PM on weekdays or you'll get bitched at. You should be okay on weekends though.

cheticamp: wabo's 3 set

Directions: its in cheticamp by the board walk right down from wabo's pizza

Directions: 7set in front of the Pharmacy in the middle of Cheticamp.

Directions: In east margaree there is the cross roads.If you are coming from Margaree Harbor/Margaree Forks take the Y like intection. Take that and you should see a sawmill/a big flat biulding. There is a big biulding on the other side if the road that says LEVIS. The park is in the gate behind LEVIS. There is also a green bridge close by.
Description: The is a kicker ramp, a bank, a speed ramp, hippie hut, a few rails to grind and pretty much anything else because we've got an unlimited supply of crates. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Don't go inside the building because the guy who owns it is trying to sell it. He don't mind if we skate in back of it.

margaree: old peoples home 4 set

Directions: close to levi's up the road a little bit
Description: its not the best its pretty narrow but theirs 2 of the ones got a nice run off but shity landing n the other ones got a bad run but ok landing (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: you can only sk8 there for 5-10 minutes before the old people kick you out

margaree: Tiny 3 set

Directions: Right next to levis biulding supplies.

Directions: As soon as you get to Pleasant Bay , you will see signs.

Directions: Go strait by the Timmons Store , until you see a blue house, it is across from that in the woods, there is an old driveway leading to it.
Description: It is an old hockey rink that we fixed up , it has 3 rails, Bank Ramp, 2 launch ramps, a Grind Box , and lots of wood. The stuff is good but the sement is kind of crappy in places. (NOTES: )

Canadian Tire

Directions: One of biggest buildings in our town and its rite across from the Minimall
Description: One of the best places for manuals because of the two symmetrical islands that are across from each other and theres quite a bit of room in between them so its enough time to pull a trick onto the next island.The islands have good shapes to them and are high enough to wax. Warnings: You're pretty much gauranteed to be kicked out but go there later at night (they have lights).Another warning is that its gets pretty busy and in between the islands is where the cars drive to get to The Store

Dentist Gap

Directions: Keep on Reeves street until you find subway and take the next left after subway depending on which way you come from sydney ect..
Description: a parkinglot with 2 6-7 stair grass gaps on both sides with a good runway and landing. Parking lot is usually empty and cars dont often park infront of the gaps. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Bring a broom to sweep because the runway can have lots of little rocks on it.

DQ Grass Gap

Granville Street Handrails

Directions: Go down the post office street and turn right and keep going past the waterfront until u come to the rails that are infront of peoples houses.
Description: 2 handrails each across the street from each other. You would need plywood to fix the runaway and landings to make these rails doable. There on people property so i think u would have to be pretty clever about it if you were gonna make something happen. (NOTES: )

Halleluiah Jesus Christ Chuch Hanrail

Directions: Go to St Marks Church. You can pull into it from Granville Street.
Description: Huge Handrail and set i think it has been cavemaned. Picture will give a better description than words (NOTES: )

Lawyers office

Directions: Located on Granville Street next to the Granville Green
Description: little 2 set in the back and a 4 set in the front with a sideways runway. A guard rail gap about 5 6 interlocks high dangerous though. There are also some benches that you can pull out back onto the 2 set or the 4. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Directions: On the way to Port Hood, theres a sign that says Chisolm Road, thats the heart of Long Point. Thats where al lthe skating goes down. Chsiolm Road. If ya get thirsty, theres a park across the road with a river that runs.

Port Hawksbury Park

Directions: drive towards the mcdonalds. if the mcdonalds is on your right, pass it and take the right at the lights (the mcdonalds may be on your left depending on what route you take to get to phk). go down the street to the end and you will see some tennis courts. the park is close by.
Description: repaved tennis courts with alot of things to skate: Big bank ramp, a couple of quarters, a 2 ft launch ramp, 2 manual pads, a grind box and a 2way with a full length rail. a wedge ramp and a few picnic tables. there are also lots of rails of different heigths and lenghts (both square and round varieties) (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Post Office Gap

Directions: Find the main Tim Hortons and turn in if you were going to go into the drive thru but keep going down the street till u hit the post office

springhurst gap

Directions: just drive thru town until you get to the ultramar(with the wall gap) and turn down the street between ultramar and the pizza shop. take your next right and you'll see large brick apartment buildings. turn into there , the gap is hard to miss.

Description: Two 6 sets both on each side of the building. Two roof drops that are about 8 feet high, (NOTES: )
Warnings: Runaways are short for the six sets and landing would need to be fixed depending on what roof drop.

Description: parking lot to parking lot drop with a curb in front. similar to the northside pit drop. (NOTES: )
Warnings: it's in an apartment complex parking lot and the tenents are liable to kick you out.

Waterfront Gaps and Rail

Directions: Go down to Granville street until you get to the hawk statue and turn left depending which way you came.
Description: Two virgin gaps one is insane and looks really dangerous. Only pictures can descibe this gap. The second one is pretty small compared to the first one but its long. Makeshift runways but and awsome landing for the huge gap and the smaller gap landing is pretty short. The rail looks pretty doable to boardslide if you goofy and to 5050 if u are regular but runaway and landings might have to be fixed up. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

SNOWBOARDING

18 Wheeler Drop

Directions: Its in Glace Bay on the side of Lawtons by A&W drive threw.
Description: Its the back of an 18 wheeler its really high its a good drop for snowskates. (NOTES: Rain Skatable )
Warnings: The dicks from Lawtons mite come out and kick you out but if they dont see you should be fine.

Ben Eoin: Ski Ben Eoin

Directions: drive on the route 4 highway. it is 25 minutes past sydney river on your left.
Description: ski hill with several trails, quad lift, snowboard rental shop, and snowboard park. more info as soon as hill opens for 03/04 season. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Fraiser Hill

Directions: Go across the big green bridge, and turn right. Keep going past the Y's mens, Youll see it its a big hill cant miss it.
Description: umm nice length hill not too steep lots of room for kickers and launches. (NOTES: )

Glace Bay: Renwick Brook

Directions: Travel down brookside street until you come to an old garage, turn left or right (depending on which way you are coming to the intersection from) and go straight for about 10 seconds until you see a yellow guard rail on your right, thats it.
Description: There are multiple hills which you can gap over and a large hill which is too big to gap over but it is possible make a hit at the top of it and land half way down. The whole spot is based on a walkway which is a nice hill to set up flat rails on. Further down the brook there are a large number of hills but there isnt much landing to most of them unless you'd like to land in the brook. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
Warnings: Its based around a source of running water so watch out for it.

Glace Bay: Sonny's Rail

Directions: It's on the bottom of commercial street across the parking lot from Sonny's Pizza. You can see it from the bridge.
Description: A double set rail with a 5 at the top and a 7-9 on the bottom (im not sure which). Usually only the bottom half is slid but whatever floats your boat, roll with it. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

hospital hill

Directions: It is on st peters rd
Description: It has a rail made from a bike rack and plenty of room to make jumps (NOTES: )
Warnings: Little kids sleding around the hill

Ingonish: Ski Cape Smokey

Directions: from sydney, take the 125 trans canada past kelly's mountain, and take the ferry turnoff to get on the cabot trail. take the cabot trail for 30 to 40 minutes until you reach cape smokey. exercise caution while driving as the highland area gets much more snow than industrial cb. when you drive over smokey, you will come down the mountain and notice a large ski hill on your left.
Description: quad chairlift. no information on open runs at this time. (NOTES: )
Warnings: driving can be extremely dangerous in the winter. be careful! in case of car accident or snowboard accident, the closest hospital with emergency services is in neil's harbour, about 25 minutes north of ingonish.

Sydney: Saint Anthony Daniel (SAD)

Directions: across from g.a.'s dairy on alexandra street in sydney.
Description: hill with nice incline.. slope is about 50 feet long and very wide. (NOTES: Night Skatable)

Sydney: Wentworth Park Rainbow Rail

Directions: located by the bandshell at wentworth park on george street (close to max dairy).
Description: a hill with around 30 feet runway, with a rainbow rail crossing a brook with a bridge on one side. (NOTES: )

The Rink

Directions: Go behind bec to the rink and to the back of the parking lot
Description: It is a good hill. There is always snow there cause thats where the zamboni dumps the snow. theres ok jumps and rails. (NOTES: Night Skatable)
